OnebyOne is a live cartographic performance that maps the spiralic pathways to landmarks of growth through symbiotic relationship. Unfurling the meaning of support, performers Eva & Corinne, with composer, Reba Hasko, acknowledge the embodied histories that lay dormant. Uplifting imprinted archetypes in our psyche, bones, cells they invite us to shed layers of experience, like a tree peels away bark or a snake sheds skin, to update our past into the present.
Thursday | April 17 | Guest: K.J. Holmes
HIC SVNT DRACONES (excerpted work in progress), created and performed by K.J. Holmes, is from the 15th century cartographers’ term Terra Incognita which was used to describe the edge of a land unexplored, unmapped, undocumented. During the 19th century, this term disappeared from maps, since the coastlines and inner parts of continents had been fully explored. In this piece, K.J. enters the edge between a known and unknown territory of human being.
